Brassada Orange Delight Starbek Orange HCC/AOS

This is one of the plants that I brought back from Toronto during the summer of 2005. I believe it was listed as near blooming size when I purchased it, and it bloomed for the first time last month.

The orange colour of the flower deepened and the grapefruit-like citrus scent became more pronounced as the inflorescence aged.

Orchid mystery novels

I finally found an opportunity to read Michelle Wan's orchid mystery novel, Deadly Slipper, set in the Dordogne region of the south of France. It was a great read, and I was delighted to discover, upon completing the book, that there is now a second novel which follows the first one and is entitled Orchid Shroud.

The combination of mystery and orchid lore, set against the backdrop of the Dordogne region makes for a good page turner, and I would definitely recommend keeping an eye out for these books! I could not find any news about the possibility of a third novel, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!
