Jenn's plants in bloom

Another update for Jenn! Hope you get a chance to come and visit your plants (and say goodbye, of course) before heading overseas!!

Here is a picture of the Maxillaria negroides in full bloom:

Here is your ebay Brassidium (shooting star x dark star):

And last but not least, the Phrag. longifolium!!

The flower is a bit different from what I expected. Here is a picture of the listing of the Phrag longifolium. I think the flower looks a lot more like this hybrid ??

Nice site. I do not grow orchids but love them (and my partner does in part because I buy them for her). I am listing your site on my site as part of Blog Day 2006. . . . which is August 31.

Great job looking after the orchids! I am also very purplexed at the Phrag longifolium bloom, expecting something different. Maybe I should contact the greenhouse???

Beautiful photos! I agree, though. That is no Phrag. longifolium!

It looks like a hybrid that has heavy besseae in its parentage. Maybe a besseae x pearcei?

I'd contact the grower, and see if they can send you a longifolium (since that's what you thought you were buying) and maybe they could also tell you which other Phrags they have, to get a better idea about this lovely.
